A vintage circular gold-tone metal powder compact by Gwenda, produced as a souvenir for the 1953 Coronation. The lid features a printed portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara and white fur wrap, holding a large bouquet of cream and yellow flowers. The reverse of the case is decorated with a concentric wavy engine-turned pattern. The interior contains a circular glass mirror and a powder compartment housing a mesh sifter and a cream fabric powder puff. The internal hinge is stamped with the manufacturer marks GWENDA and MADE IN ENGLAND. Diameter approx. 7.6 cm (3 inches). Condition: The compact exhibits minor age-related surface wear and light scuffing to the printed portrait on the lid. There are light surface scratches to the gold-tone metal casing. The internal mirror and hinge mechanism remain in good functional condition.
