A vintage rotary perpetual desk calendar, resembling the work of Park Sherman. The accessory comprises a cylindrical brass-plated metal housing mounted upon a rectangular metal base with a dark brown patinated finish. Four rectangular apertures on the front face display the day of the week, the numerical date in two separate windows, and the month in three-letter abbreviations. The internal cardstock rollers are manually adjusted via two sets of knurled brass knobs located at either end of the barrel. The underside of the base is finished with a protective layer of brown felt. Dimensions: W approx. 8.3 cm x H approx. 4.4 cm (read from a ruler showing inches). Condition: The item shows significant signs of wear consistent with age and regular use. There is extensive loss to the original brass-plated finish, accompanied by surface pitting, oxidation, and tarnishing across the metal housing. The base shows wear to the edges and minor surface oxidation. The internal rollers have yellowed with age and exhibit light foxing, although the printed text remains clear. The adjustment knobs are functional.
