An Art Deco silver-plated cigarette case of rectangular form with rounded corners. The front cover is decorated with diagonal engine-turned linear patterns, with two opposing corners featuring tiered semicircular motifs inlaid with red and black enamel. A central diamond-shaped reserve is engraved with the cursive monogram DB. The reverse of the case features horizontal engine-turned lines within a foliate scroll-work border. The push-button release opens to a gilded interior, which contains a spring-loaded, decorative open-work retaining arm. Condition: The case displays significant surface tarnish and oxidation across the exterior. There is visible wear to the silver plating, especially at the edges and corners where the base metal is exposed. The interior gilding shows light surface scratching and marks consistent with use. The hinge, clasp, and internal retaining arm are in functional condition.
