An antique serrated bread knife manufactured by the Clauss Shear Company of Fremont, Ohio. The knife features a long steel blade with a scalloped cutting edge and a clipped, angled tip. The blade is secured to a cast metal handle by two rivets. The handle is designed with an open-ended skeletonised loop. The base of the handle is embossed with the maker name Clauss in an arch on one side and the manufacturing location Fremont, Ohio on the reverse. Dimensions: overall length approx. 39.4 cm. Condition: The item is in poor, relic condition with extensive surface oxidation and rust covering the blade and handle. Significant pitting is visible across all metal surfaces. The scalloped serrations show wear consistent with age and long-term storage.
