A French brass-cased carriage clock in the Corniche style, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The case features five bevelled glass panels and a folding carrying handle. The white enamel dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers and blued steel spade-style hands. The mechanical eight-day timepiece movement is viewed through the side and rear panels, with a silvered platform lever escapement visible through the top oval window. The backplate is stamped with the word FRANCE. The movement features a regulation lever marked V F and S A. Included with the clock is a double-ended brass winding and setting key. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): H approx. 12 cm x W approx. 8.3 cm. Condition: The brass case shows surface tarnishing and marks consistent with age. The white enamel dial appears free of chips or cracks. The bevelled glass panels are intact. The movement is untested and may require professional cleaning and lubrication.
