A two-piece vanity set comprising a hand mirror and a matching hairbrush, constructed from mottled salmon-pink celluloid. The reverse of both items is decorated with a black lithographed Art Nouveau design featuring a central stylized floral vase surrounded by scrolling foliate borders. The hand mirror is fitted with a circular bevelled glass plate. The hairbrush body houses natural bristles. No maker's marks are visible. Condition: The set is in fair condition. There is a significant chip and loss to the celluloid material at the terminal of the hairbrush handle. The lithographed decoration on the hairbrush shows noticeable fading and wear in comparison to the decoration on the mirror. The celluloid surfaces exhibit general surface wear, light scratching, and minor staining consistent with age and use. The natural bristles show some splaying.
