Produced in Jena, Germany, this early 20th-century 6x "Marineglas" model individual-focus military binocular features upper prism cover plate stampings reading the framed "CARL ZEISS JENA" logo alongside "MARINEGLAS", serial number "695163", and "6x". Lower prism plate stampings show hand-engraved inventory/unit marking "Z.M.C.K.-23.". The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 620 grams (1 lb 5.9 oz). The accompanying fitted leather hard case measures 5.75 inches high by 7 inches wide (14.6 cm H x 17.8 cm W). Constructed with metal frame elements and textured body coverings, the unit maintains smooth central hinge pivot action and smooth individual diopter adjustments. Optical condition is clear across both channels, providing clean viewing performance without defects. All exterior metal components and body coverings have been fully repainted, with noticeable paint peeling along the lower objective lens barrel caps and rims. The weathered dark brown leather case features a belt loop back panel; its leather shoulder strap is missing, and the front closure latch strap is detached.
