Produced by Hensoldt in Wetzlar, Germany, this 8x24 center-focus military field glass features upper prism cover plate stampings reading "HENSOLDT" on the left plate and "ARTILLERIE 8x24" on the right plate. The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by6 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 15.2 cm W) and weigh 515 grams (1 lb 2.2 oz). Constructed with metal frame elements, a central focusing mechanism, and textured body coverings, the unit maintains smooth central hinge pivot action and smooth right diopter adjustment, while the central focus wheel operates stiffly. The left eyecup displays visible cracks and evidence of a glue repair. Optical glass exhibits a conchoidal fracture within the left internal optical system, causing slight distortion during viewing. Exterior metal components and the textured body coverings have been fully repainted.
