Dating to the early 20th century (World War I era), this German 8x26 "Armee-Trieder" military field glass was produced by C.P. Goerz in Berlin. Upper prism plate stampings feature the triangular "C.P. GOERZ BERLIN" logo alongside "8x26 ARMEE-TRIEDERD.R.P.". The inner bridge arm is stamped with serial number "106289" and a proof emblem. An internal reticle scale (ranging grid) is integrated into the optical system. The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 16.5 cm W)and weigh 615 grams (1 lb 5.7 oz). Constructed with metal frame elements and textured brown body coverings, the set maintains smooth central hinge pivot action and smooth individual diopter focus adjustments. Optical condition is clear across both channels with no defects affecting view, and the internal reticle grid remains visible. All exterior metal elements and prism plates have been repainted, while the pebble-textured body coverings remain factory.
