Dating to World War I, this 6x military field glass (Doppelfernrohr) was manufactured by Carl Zeiss in Jena, Germany. Upper prism cover plate stampings feature the framed "CARL ZEISS JENA" logo alongside military designation "D.F. 6x" and serial number "706065". An additional "K" code marking is stamped on the central bridge arm. The binoculars measure 4.25 inches high by 6 inches wide (10.8 cm H x 15.2 cm W) and weigh 470 grams (1 lb 0.6 oz). The accompanying fitted tan leather hard case measures 5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (12.7 cm H x 16.5 cm W). Constructed with metal frame elements and individual focus diopters, the set maintains smooth focusing action on the left diopter while the right operates roughly, and the central hinge pivot tension is frozen. The right eyecup exhibits a chip along its outer rim. Optical glass condition is clear across both channels, providing clean viewing performance. All exterior components, including the body texture wrap, have been fully repainted. The tan leather hard case displays surface wear, heavy weathering, and age patina, complete with a weathered front buckle closure strap and leather shoulder strap.
