A standout 12-card group of vintage German photographic postcards centered on the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, Reichssportfeld and Olympiastadion, with stadium, athletic competition, Olympic grounds and architectural views. A key highlight is Official Olympia-Postkarte No. 98 depicting New Zealand runner Jack Lovelock, winner of the 1500-meter event in the printed world-record time of 3:47.8. Also included is an official Olympia-Fonds Reichssportfeld postcard, aerial stadium views, Olympic tower and rings imagery, competition scenes, and a Hamburg Chilehaus card. Especially collectible postal features include a 1936 "Olympische Spiele Berlin 1.–16. August 1936" commemorative postmark and a 1938 Berlin-Charlottenburg Germany–America athletics postmark with crossed German and American flags. Period 6 Pf. Deutsches Reich stamps are present on mailed examples. Mixed used and unused condition with age toning, light edge/corner wear, handwriting and postal markings.
