This large format hardcover cloth volume, published in 1942 by Max Hesses Verlag in Berlin and edited by Julius Kapp, documents the 200-year history of the Berlin State Opera. The book is bound in beige cloth, 12 x 9.5 inches, and contains numerous photographic and color plate illustrations that detail performances, costume designs, and prominent individuals associated with the opera. Included are images and artwork reflecting the cultural context of early 20th-century Germany, with appearances of political figures relevant to the period. The title page, in German, emphasizes the commemorative nature of the publication. The interior pages retain sharp photographic reproductions and vibrant color plates. The overall condition is good, with a solid binding, minor corner bumps, some light edge wear, and well-preserved contents. A bookseller’s stamp from Hans Imhot, Berlin, also appears affixed inside the cover. Pages are clean and mostly free from major damage. GE/SW
