Early 20th-century Carl Zeiss Jena Silvamar 6x field glass, manufactured in Jena, Germany. The binoculars display upper prism cover plate stampings including the CARL ZEISS JENA lens-frame logo, model designation "SILVAMAR," individual serial number"1121088," and marked "6X." The pivot washer at the center bridge is marked "GERMANY," indicating export. The binoculars measure 4.25 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (10.8 cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 614 grams (1 lb 5.7 oz). Included is the original brown leather storage case, which features a blind-embossed Carl Zeiss Jena logo on its front and measures 5.5 inches high by 7 inches wide (14.0 cm H x 17.8 cm W). The field glasses exhibit smooth central hinge tension with a smooth left diopter focus ring, while the right ring is stiff. Both viewing channels retain clear optical glass. The original finish and leatherette wraps are present, showing natural brassing, edge wear, and age patina consistent with age.
