World War II-era 6x30 military binocular set produced by Voigtländer & Sohn in Braunschweig, Germany. The binoculars feature a black textured wrap over a metal frame, measuring 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 431grams (15.2 oz). Markings on the upper prism plates read "Voigtländer" and "6x30," with a Waffenamt WaA180 inspection proof stamped on the inner bridge arm. Both hinge and diopter mechanisms function smoothly, with a clear optical view in both channels. The attached leather neck strap holds a bakelite ocular rain guard, which has a chip in its rim. There is touch-up paint visible on the frame and caps. The fitted brown leather case, measuring 5.5 inches high by 7 inches wide (14.0 cm H x 17.8 cm W), shows mild surface wear and features handwritten owner information inside the lid: "J.D.T. JONES, 135 CLIFTON ST., CARDIFF." The original spring latch and leather shoulder strap are fully functional.
