Produced in Jena, Germany, by Carl Zeiss Jena, this vintage D.F. 6x military binocular set displays left prism plate stampings reading the boxed "CARL ZEISS JENA" logo, while the right prism plate displays "D.F. 6x". The lower objective bridge casting is stamped with serial number "No 685731". The binoculars measure 4.25 inches high by 6 inches wide (10.8 cm H x 15.2 cm W) and weigh 505 grams (1 lb 1.8 oz). The accompanying hard-leather carry case measures 4.75 inches high by 6.25 inches wide (12.1 cm H x 15.9 cm W). Constructed with a metal frame, textured body wrap, and leather neck strap, the binoculars feature individual diopter eye assembly focus rings. Central hinge tension and diopter rings operate smoothly. Optics remain clear, delivering sharp viewing through the right barrel, while the left view remains blurred as turning its diopter ring does not alter internal focus. All components show evidence of previous cosmetic paint touch-ups, including touch-up spots over the left diopter ring lens rim and over surface chipping on the right upper prism plate. The weathered black leather case includes rear belt loops, metal side loops, and an intact, functional front stud-latch strap, though the shoulder strap is missing.
