Produced during World War II by Voigtländer & Sohn in Braunschweig, Germany, this 6x30 Dienstglas military optical set displays upper prism plate stampings reading "Dienstglas 6x30", serial number "232359", manufacturer ordnance code "ddx", and lubricant indicator triangle mark "?". An internal reticle scale (ranging grid) is integrated into the optical system. The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 355 grams (12.5 oz). Constructed with synthetic eyecups and a metal frame, the set maintains smooth central hinge pivot movement and smooth individual diopter focus adjustments. Viewing clarity is clear with no defects, and the internal reticle grid remains visible. All exterior components have been repainted, and the body housing displays noticeable texture wear and finish loss beneath the recoated paint.
