This pair of German D.F. 6x military field glasses dates to World War I and was manufactured by Carl Zeiss in Jena. The binoculars are stamped on the upper prism cover plates with both the framed "CARL ZEISS JENA" logo and "D.F. 6x" designation, as well as the individual serial number 734325. The lower prism cap also displays matching serial number "Nº 734325." They measure 4.25 inches high by 6.25 inches wide (10.8 cm x 15.9 cm) and weigh 490 grams (1 lb 1.3 oz). These binoculars feature a metal frame with textured body panels, a central hinge with smooth pivot, and independent diopter adjustment. The viewing performance remains clear; however, there is visible paint bleed onto the outer eyecup lenses from prior touch-up. The barrel coatings are mismatched, and the left prism cover shows paint touch-up and damage.
