This optical set features a pair of Dienstglas 6x30 military binoculars produced during World War II by Voigtländer & Sohn in Braunschweig, Germany, under the ordnance code "ddx." The upper prism plate is stamped with "Dienstglas 6x30," serial number "217570," code "ddx," and includes the lubricant indicator triangle mark "?." The binoculars incorporate an internal reticle scale ranging grid within the optical system. Measuring 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 376 grams (13.3 oz), the metal-frame binoculars display textured body coverings that have been fully repainted. Central hinge pivot and diopter adjustments operate smoothly, and the optical glass exhibits minor dust spots while retaining clear viewing. Accompanying the binoculars is a fitted brown leather hard case, 5 inches high by 7 inches wide (12.7 cm H x 17.8 cm W), with surface wear and aging evident. The case features a red velvet interior, spring closure latch, and functional leather strap.
