Featuring post-WWII European field construction, this canteen consists of a smooth, reddish-brown molded plastic flask fitted with an aluminum screw cap and an olive drab painted metal cup. The assembly is secured by a black leather harness system with a metal belt attachment clip and folding wire handle bracket on the cup, closely following traditional German field gear patterns. This example displays minor surface wear consistent with age and storage, including light scratches on the plastic body, mild paint scuffing to the cup, and surface cracking and wear on the leather straps. Measures 9 x 6 inches. A distinctive post-war field item, ideal for collectors of European military equipment or field gear evolution.
