This German field canteen consists of a wooden body secured by a tan web strap system and is topped with an olive drab metal cup. The body is marked with D.R.G.M., HRE43, and D.R.Pangh1 on one side, confirming production in 1943 by the maker HRE. The web straps include metal tips stamped with an FS logo, and the set features a grooved wooden screw cap. The metal cup, also marked HRE43, attaches to the body with a strap and buckle assembly. This model, introduced during World War II, was issued to German soldiers when aluminum became scarce. The canteen remains structurally sound with visible age-related abrasion and oxidation on the metal components, consistent with field use and storage conditions. It measures 10 x 7.
