This AGFA camera, the Optima II S, was first sold in the early 1960's, with production ending in 1966. The lens is an AGFA Color-Apotar, 45mm, f2.8, with a Prontormator shutter. The shutter is linked to a selenium light meter, which is meant to assist with assuring the proper exposure, however, the system does not seem to be operating. The camera is rated to use up to ASA 200 speed film. There is also a DIN range of numbers for film speed. The lens shows a small amount of dust a a touch of fogging on the outer edges of the lens. The camera comes with the original leather, AGFA branded case. The case comes with the original leather strap and has attached compartments for an AGFA flash attachment (missing), as well as a pouch for carrying flash bulbs. Additionally, there is a very nice Bertram Amateur exposure meter, in its original leather case, attached to the camera's leather strap. The meter's selenium sensor seems to be weak. Cosmetically, this camera is in very good condition. Few if any noticeable scratches on the outside, with no dents to the body. The interior is very clean, with no corrosion or mold.
