ca. late 19th-early 20th century; Mid-Atlantic state, Appalachian region traditional oriole's nest or half round wall basket. The hickory splint basket is similar in construction to traditional orschbock baskets, but only half. The basket has cross-weave covered bent hoop handle, D-shaped bet rim, froe-split and shaved ribs with woven splint construction with a double-rim. The union has a fine overlapped bracing; 13" x 8" x 14 3/4"; Condition: very good, no damage
