ca. 1820-1860; Pennsylvania ochre-red and black/green painted single door hanging cupboard. The four-light cupboard is dovetail constructed with oversized cove and corner bead molded crown molding, semi-chamfer molded corner and terminates with a lamb's tongue molded accent bottom. The cabinet has a four flowing glass lens door on iron butt hinges. The door rails are through-mortise constructed with fine quarter-round molded mullions, retaining an early cabinet lock, but a later era mounted fancy key escutcheon. The single shelf has a cock's bead accent, interior ochre-red painted and door and accented trims are painted in a black or possible green that has oxidized. The cabinet has a two-board cut-nail mounted back (one is yellow pine); 23 3/4" x 9 3/4" x 28"; Condition: The door's key escutcheon is a Victorian era addition. The cabinet has a light varnish coat that has possibly darkened over years. "As Found"
