ca. 1820-1850's; Attributed to Philadelphia Filley Tinshop, tinware tankard is black toleware with a floral medallion pattern decoration. The tankard retains old asphalthum-lacquer ground with a white ground medallion that has a polychrome floral design and yellow painted swag border. Tankard is rolled tin sheet and solder constructed with applied bead rolled strap handle; 4"dia. X 5 1/2" x 6 1/8"H.; Condition: Very good old surface with minimal flaking of original paints. Approx. 95% original surface intact.
