ca. 19th century-20th century; Each is Austrian-German type with hot branded decoration: Paddle-type flax seed ripper with 5 1/2" long driven spike. The comb side is hot-work branded with decorative designs, 3 3/4" x 13" x 5 1/2", Condition: good. European design high frame flax working hatchel with possible date. The hatchel is European beechwood that has a high-frame comb dado mounted to the baseboard, nail constructed with two lines of driven nails for combing of flax. The hatchel has geometric branded decoration with a pictorial design of a flax stem on one upright and a soldier with raised rifle on the other, 21 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 16"; Condition: Powder post beetle damage over entire piece.
