ca. late 19th century; Primitive umbrella-type fold-down yarn winder swift on four round legged stand. The swift has central post with push-up housing that extends the umbrella frame for winding; closed - 10" dia. X 35"; [Provenance: note- found in Southern Lancaster County at an Amish Country store]; Condition: noted - old "make-do" repairs to umbrella frame. Some parts are loose and one damaged. The stand/base is probably a later home-owner addition.
