J.D. Kestner DEP 154 Bisque Head Socket Doll

J.D. Kestner German bisque socket head doll, mold number 154. The doll features a bisque head with brown glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered eyebrows, and an open mouth revealing four inset upper teeth. It is fitted with a long dark brown wig. The head is incised with the markings DEP 154. The body is constructed of cream-colored gusseted kid leather at the hips and knees. The doll has bisque lower arms and hands, one of which is a replacement, and lower cloth legs. Clothing consists of a vintage blue and white floral-patterned cotton dress with lace trim, a white cotton chemise, matching lace-trimmed bloomers, and a pair of off-white knit socks. Height: 17.5 inches. Bisque head remains in good order with expected surface wear. Kid leather body exhibits typical age-related soiling and minor abrasions. One arm is a replacement. Repairs are present at the knees, including one hole requiring attention. Lower cloth legs show significant discoloration and staining.
