Armand Marseille 3200 Doll

An antique German bisque socket head doll manufactured by Armand Marseille, mold number 3200. The doll features brown glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered eyebrows, and an open mouth with four inset porcelain upper teeth. It is fitted with a brown wig. The construction includes a gusseted kid leather body with bisque lower arms and hands. The neck plate is incised with markings including 3200, AM, 1, M, and Made in Germany. The doll is dressed in a light blue dress with extensive cream lace trim and floral-patterned lace overlays. Undergarments include a lace-trimmed cotton chemise, pantaloons, and a slip. Accessories consist of knit stockings, cream leather tie shoes with gold-toned floral ornaments, and a string of faux pearls. Height: 18 inches. The bisque head and lower limbs show expected wear due to age. The sleep eyes are functional. The kid leather body displays age-related darkening and staining with a repaired arm and adhesive repairs at the shoulder joints. Clothing is in good antique condition.
