Simon & Halbig Mold 154 DEP Shoulder-Head Doll

Antique German Simon & Halbig mold 154 shoulder-head doll. The bisque head is incised with the markings 8 1/2 dep. 154 on the reverse of the shoulder plate. The face features blue glass sleep eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, finely feathered eyebrows, blushed cheeks, and a closed mouth with four inset upper teeth. It is fitted with a light auburn mohair wig styled in curls with a green ribbon. The body is constructed of cream-colored kid leather for the torso and upper limbs, with bisque lower arms and hands, and cloth lower legs. This lot includes a complete set of period-style clothing comprising a floral patterned cotton dress with black cord waist tie, a full-length cotton chemise, eyelet-trimmed bloomers, knit socks, and black leather lace-up shoes. Height: 22 inches. This doll shows expected wear consistent with its age. The bisque head is well-preserved with vibrant facial painting and a functional sleep eye mechanism. The kid leather body exhibits minor surface darkening and light staining. A professional repair is noted at the right shoulder attachment, and the left arm requires attention as it is leaking a small amount of stuffing. The right bisque hand is intact, while the left hand is missing the thumb.
