Three character baby dolls manufactured by the Morimura Brothers in Japan, dating to approximately 1915-1925. The group features a large toddler doll and two smaller infant dolls. Each doll possesses a socket head constructed of tinted bisque with painted upper and lower lashes, feathered eyebrows, and open mouths with molded upper teeth. The largest doll is equipped with blue glass sleep eyes and a blonde mohair wig, while one smaller doll features brown glass sleep eyes and a brown mohair wig. The third doll is missing its internal eye mechanism. The heads are mounted on five-piece jointed composition bodies. The reverse of each head is marked with the incised MB circular manufacturer logo, the word Japan, and various numerical size indicators. The assortment is dressed in a mix of vintage and contemporary clothing, including a pink knit sweater and beret, a two-piece gray suit, and a patterned shirt set. Note that the black shoes on one doll are modern replacements marked Made in Hong Kong. Heights: 23 inches, 10 inches, 10 inches. These dolls exhibit expected signs of age and handling throughout. The bisque heads remain in good condition without significant cracks or chips. The composition bodies show age-appropriate wear, including surface crazing and finish loss, most notably on the largest doll. One doll requires an eye replacement. Clothing and shoes are a combination of original and later pieces.
