This lot features two antique German bisque socket head dolls of varying constructions. The first is a Simon & Halbig for Kammer & Reinhardt doll on a fully jointed composition body, incised on the back of the head with the maker names and mold number 43. Notable features include brown glass sleep eyes, earring holes, and an open mouth with inset teeth, alongside red painted details to the fingernails and toes. It is dressed in a plaid cotton gown with a complete four-piece undergarment set and black stockings. The second item is a MABEL doll identified by its original red Arabesque Germany paper chest label on a jointed kid leather body. This doll displays dark glass sleep eyes, a mohair wig, and bisque forearms, costumed in an elaborate peach net gown with embroidered floral motifs and sequins. Simon & Halbig doll: 17 inches German MABEL doll: 13 inches. These dolls exhibit expected signs of age including minor surface marks to the bisque and light wear to the body joints. The kid leather and composition structures remain sound, and the clothing is well-preserved for its age.
