1921 Morgan Silver Dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This is a particularly significant coin as the final year of the original Morgan Dollar series and the only year the Morgan Dollar was produced after a 17-year hiatus. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Morgan Dollar was designed by George T. Morgan and was first introduced in 1878. The obverse features Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, while the reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings holding arrows and an olive branch. The 1921 Philadelphia issue had a mintage of 44,690,000 coins, making it the most heavily produced Morgan Dollar date. The 1921 issue was struck from newly prepared, shallow-relief dies, resulting in noticeably flatter details than earlier Morgan Dollars.
