1921-D Morgan Silver Dollar, struck at the Denver Mint. This is a particularly significant issue as the only Morgan Dollar ever struck at the Denver Mint, making it an essential coin for collectors building a complete Morgan Dollar set. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Morgan Dollar was designed by George T. Morgan and was first introduced in 1878. The 1921 issue marked the return of Morgan Dollar production after a 17-year hiatus and was also the final year of the original Morgan Dollar series, before the Peace Dollar debuted later that same year. The 1921-D had a mintage of 20,345,000 coins. Although many examples survive, the issue becomes significantly scarcer in higher Mint State grades. PCGS estimates approximately 2 million examples survive in all grades, with roughly 6,000 surviving at MS65 or better. The 1921-D is also notable for its shallow-relief design, which can result in softer central details. It is generally better struck than the 1921 Philadelphia and San Francisco issues, although many examples still display some weakness.
