1887 Morgan Silver Dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This classic late-19th-century U.S. silver dollar is a plentiful and popular issue among Morgan Dollar collectors. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Morgan Dollar was designed by George T. Morgan and was first introduced in 1878. The obverse features Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, while the reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings holding arrows and an olive branch. The 1887 Philadelphia issue had a mintage of 20,290,000 coins, setting a Morgan Dollar production record at the time. Millions of examples survived, making the 1887 one of the most readily available Morgan Dollars, including in Mint State grades.
