Offered is a 1962 Franklin Half Dollar with Full Bell Lines (FBL), struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This classic 90% silver half dollar features Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. Please review the photos for the exact grade, surfaces, luster, and overall condition. The Franklin Half Dollar was designed by John R. Sinnock and John Frederick Lewis and was produced from 1948 through 1963. The 1962 Philadelphia issue had a mintage of 9,714,000 coins. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs 12.5 grams, and contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver. Philadelphia issues carry no mint mark. The FBL (Full Bell Lines) designation refers to strong, uninterrupted horizontal lines across the lower portion of the Liberty Bell on the reverse. The 1962 Franklin is notably more difficult to find with FBL designation than many other Franklin issues, making these examples particularly desirable to collectors.
