Offered is a 1960-D Franklin Half Dollar, struck at the Denver Mint. This classic 90% silver half dollar features Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, luster, and overall appearance. The Franklin Half Dollar was produced from 1948 through 1963 and was designed by John R. Sinnock, with the reverse design completed by John Frederick Lewis. The 1960-D issue had a mintage of 18,215,812 coins. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs 12.5 grams, and contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver. The “D” mint mark above the Liberty Bell identifies this as a Denver Mint issue. The 1960-D is also collected in Full Bell Lines (FBL) examples. Strong, uninterrupted horizontal lines across the lower portion of the Liberty Bell are especially desirable to Franklin Half Dollar collectors.
