Offered is a 1959-D Franklin Half Dollar with Full Bell Lines (FBL), struck at the Denver Mint. This classic 90% silver issue is a desirable addition for Franklin Half Dollar collectors, particularly examples displaying strong, uninterrupted detail across the Liberty Bell. Please review the photos for the exact grade, surfaces, luster, and overall condition. The Franklin Half Dollar was designed by John R. Sinnock and John Frederick Lewis and was produced from 1948 through 1963. The 1959-D issue had a mintage of 13,053,750 coins. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs 12.5 grams, and contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver. The “D” mint mark identifies it as a Denver Mint issue. The FBL (Full Bell Lines) designation refers to strong, uninterrupted horizontal lines visible across the lower portion of the Liberty Bell on the reverse. FBL examples are especially sought after by Franklin Half Dollar collectors. The 1959-D can be challenging in higher Mint State grades, adding collector interest to premium examples.
