Offered is a 1956 Franklin Half Dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This classic 90% silver U.S. half dollar features Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, and overall appearance. The Franklin Half Dollar was designed by John R. Sinnock and John Frederick Lewis and was produced from 1948 through 1963. The 1956 issue had a mintage of 4,032,000 coins, making it one of the lower-mintage regular issues in the Franklin Half Dollar series. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs 12.5 grams, and contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver. Philadelphia Mint examples carry no mint mark.
