Offered is a 1960 Franklin Half Dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This classic 90% silver half dollar features Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, luster, and overall appearance. The Franklin Half Dollar was produced from 1948 through 1963 and was designed by John R. Sinnock, with the reverse design completed by John Frederick Lewis. The 1960 Philadelphia issue had a relatively low circulation-strike mintage of 6,024,000 coins. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs 12.5 grams, and contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver. Philadelphia issues carry no mint mark. The 1960 issue is also notable for its Full Bell Lines (FBL) varieties. The redesigned master die produced sharper detail in some areas, while strong, uninterrupted bell lines can be difficult to find, making FBL examples particularly desirable to collectors.
