1919-D Buffalo Nickel, struck at the Denver Mint. This is a scarce early Buffalo Nickel and a desirable issue for collectors, especially in higher grades. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Buffalo Nickel was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser and introduced in 1913. The obverse features a Native American portrait, while the reverse depicts an American bison standing on a raised mound. The 1919-D had a mintage of 8,006,000 coins. Despite that original production figure, the date is considered scarce in circulated grades and rare in Mint State. PCGS notes that it is the rarest Denver-mint Buffalo Nickel of the 1913–1919 period in Gem condition.
