Late 19th Century "1886" Silver Pommel Cane

An elegant and historically late 19th centruy appealing sterling silver presentation cane featuring a cylindrical, hand-engraved pommel inscribed on the top in flowing script “M.K. 1886,” clearly marking it as a late 19th century commemorative or presentation piece. The silver pommel is richly decorated with repoussé floral and foliate motifs including stylized leaves and shell forms, bordered by smooth bands at top and bottom, and retains a warm aged patina consistent with its age. The inscription remains legible and nicely centered, adding strong personal and collectible character. The shaft appears to be a natural wood with pronounced organic shaping and gentle twists, likely a root or branch form, giving the cane a rustic contrast to the refined silver top; the wood shows age-appropriate wear, surface marks, and handling evidence throughout. The pommel and shaft both exhibit scuffs, scratches, and minor surface wear consistent with use and age, but the piece remains solid and structurally sound overall.
