Finely carved wooden walking cane featuring a dramatic figural handle carved as Medusa with deeply detailed serpentine hair and an expressive open mouth, the carving executed in a darker toned hardwood contrasting with the lighter shaft below, the upper shaft inscribed in script “Medusa, The Gorgon’s Head,” the shaft appearing to be a nicely figured hardwood with warm honey-brown tones and subtle grain striping throughout, the handle showing a natural wood crack as noted along with general surface scuffs, scratches, and handling wear consistent with age and use, overall presenting as a strong decorative mythological figural cane with striking display presence. Measures 33.5" Tall.
