AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > An antique C.F. Mfg. Co. rocker food or cabbage chopper standing 5.5" tall, measuring approximately 5.75" wide across the blade and weighing an impressive 12+ ounces. The substantial cooking tool features a broad curved steel blade secured by heavy rivets to an elevated cast metal handle. Designed for repeated rocking action within a wooden chopping bowl or across a butcher block, the weighted blade provides effective downward force for chopping cabbage, vegetables, herbs, nuts, meat and other ingredients. The open handle offers generous hand clearance and control, making the form suitable for use by a household cook, professional chef, commercial kitchen, restaurant or butcher shop. One upright support is relief marked C.F. MFG. CO. The manufacturer is associated with Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where the foundry reportedly operated during the closing years of the 19th century. Dense cast construction, broad working blade and durable riveted assembly reflect the substantial culinary equipment produced for serious food preparation during the period. The heavily built form offers strong appeal for collectors of antique kitchen utensils, primitive cooking tools, chef and restaurant equipment, butcher shop accessories and early American cast iron or steel implements.
