NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > A substantial craftsman woodworking shop made mantel or shelf clock formed from a solid block of wood, standing 9.5" tall and measuring 22" long x 3.25" deep across the extended molded base. Weighing an exceptional 7¼ pounds, the clock has the character of a one-off furnishing produced by a local craftsman rather than a factory-made case. The traditional tambour silhouette features a broad arched center with smoothly sloping shoulders and a stepped base molding. Warm natural grain remains visible throughout the thick wood body, while applied gold finished plastic Roman numerals and ornate black hands form the open clock face. A battery operated quartz movement is mounted to the rear and operates on one AA battery. The simple mechanical fitting, substantial hand-shaped case and absence of a visible manufacturer’s mark further support likely small-shop or individual craftsman construction. CONDITION REPORT > The quartz movement operated successfully for more than one hour before the battery was removed. No extended testing was performed to determine long-term operation or accuracy in keeping time.
