AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Offered as a five-piece group of vintage Ideal TCR Total Control Racing electric slotless cars dating to the later 1970s, including two Formula or Indy-style Jam Cars and three player-controlled racing cars. The undersides bear Ideal construction associated with the company’s 1977 patented TCR system. The two upper examples include a red and white No. 1 Formula-style racer and a black No. 19 Formula Indy car with white racing stripe, checkered side graphics, exposed engine detail and molded driver. These are the automatic Jam Car type designed to travel continuously around the track as moving obstacles for the controlled race cars to overtake. The three lower examples include a white No. 11 stock or sports car with black checkered graphics, a low open-cockpit No. 3 racer with exposed engine and rear wing, and a white and orange No. 23 HEMI Dodge Magnum stock car. Each features the broad underside electrical contact arrangement used by Ideal’s slotless TCR track system. Introduced during the late 1970s, Total Control Racing differed from conventional slot-car systems by allowing cars to operate without a fixed center guide slot. Players could change lanes and pass, while automatic Jam Cars added moving traffic and collision avoidance to the race. CONDITION REPORT > The three lower racing cars responded when suitable transformer leads were applied directly to the electrical contacts. The two upper Jam Cars did not respond during the same limited test. No track, transformer or controllers were available, and no long-term or extensive operational testing was performed. Expect finish wear, decal loss, oxidation, tire deterioration, missing or damaged trim and other elements relative to age, materials and use. Offered exactly as shown.
