HOPPE’S WILD TURKEY WOOD BOX SHOTGUN CLEANING KIT

AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A substantial vintage Hoppe’s No. 9 gun cleaning presentation kit housed within a fitted wooden chest measuring 14.25" long, 5.5" deep and 2.5" tall. The set includes the three piece brass cleaning rod, black handle, Hoppe’s No. 9 Powder Solvent, lubricating oil, patches, accessories and illustrated Guide to Gun Care booklet shown. The reddish brown presentation chest features a hinged lid, metal clasp and fitted deep green flocked interior with individually formed compartments. An applied oval relief medallion across the lid depicts a strutting wild turkey within a wooded landscape of trees, vines and foliage, surrounded by a deeply modeled scrolling border. The decorative panel creates the appearance of carved wood and gives the utilitarian cleaning kit strong sporting and wildlife display appeal. The interior lid bears the VILLAGE HOUSE name, apparently identifying the company responsible for producing or supplying the presentation chest. Similar fitted sporting gift boxes were created to transform everyday firearm maintenance equipment into substantial presentation sets intended for hunters, shooters and sporting gift markets. Hoppe’s traces company history to 1903, when Frank August Hoppe developed the original No. 9 firearm cleaner. The brand became one of the most recognizable names in American gun care, producing cleaning solvents, lubricants, rods, patches and related maintenance equipment for generations of hunters and shooting enthusiasts. The wild turkey medallion variation appears to be a discontinued presentation format rather than a current catalog product, making the complete fitted chest especially appealing for collectors of vintage firearm accessories, hunting memorabilia, wildlife art and Hoppe’s advertising material. The heavy construction, coordinated interior and surviving original components give the set far greater display presence than a standard boxed cleaning kit.
