6 Pcs HEREND AYNSLEY STAFFORDSHIRE BIRD PORCELAIN

AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Offered as a six piece collection of European porcelain featuring birds, butterflies, insects and flowering branches, including three hand painted Herend oval dishes, one Crown Staffordshire round plate, one Fürstenberg round plate and one Aynsley Pembroke miniature holder. The three Herend Hungary oval dishes each measure approximately 3" x 2.25" and display differing hand painted Rothschild Bird scenes with paired songbirds, foliage, butterflies, ladybugs and other insects, finished with gold gilt borders. Each bears the blue HEREND HUNGARY HANDPAINTED shield and crossed paintbrush mark together with individually applied form and pattern numbers. Introduced during the 19th century, Rothschild Bird became one of the best known Herend patterns and traditionally presents a series of different bird compositions among trees and scattered insects. The largest round plate measures 4.5" in diameter and bears the green CROWN STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND mark with the stated establishment date of 1801. The decoration features a boldly rendered songbird perched beneath green leaves against a white ground. Crown Staffordshire developed from the Staffordshire pottery tradition and became particularly associated with fine English bone china, decorative tableware and naturalistic bird designs. The slightly smaller round plate is marked with the crowned blue F above W. GERMANY, identifying the Porzellanmanufaktur Fürstenberg. The plate features a colorful bird upon a flowering branch and a fine gold gilt rim. Founded in 1747, Fürstenberg ranks as Germany’s second oldest porcelain manufactory, while the crowned blue F has served as the company trademark for generations. The West Germany wording dates the piece to the postwar period before German reunification. Completing the group is an Aynsley fine English bone china Pembroke holder measuring approximately 3.25" x 1.75" across the scalloped flange and standing 2.25" tall. The small oval form may be used as a toothpick, cigarette, match or trinket holder and features the colorful Asian inspired Pembroke design of exotic birds, flowering branches and trailing foliage beneath a gold gilt border. Aynsley was founded in Staffordshire in 1775, while Pembroke remains among the company’s most recognizable decorative patterns. Together, the varied makers and coordinated avian decoration create an appealing cabinet collection combining English bone china, German porcelain and hand painted Hungarian luxury porcelain.
