AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Note ~ The Pottery Barn carousel lacks one of the six frames, Offered as a two piece photograph display grouping featuring a substantial Rare Woods wooden photo album storage box measuring 6" wide, 8" deep and 6.25" tall, together with a substantial Pottery Barn rotating tabletop photo carousel. The Rare Woods box features a rich reddish brown wood finish, darker recessed border and a glass covered frame incorporated into the hinged lid. The interior contains a removable black slip in album supported at an angle by a fitted wooden divider, together with parallel wooden rails designed to organize photographs or album components. The lid frame allows a favorite family photograph to remain visible while the box functions as a keepsake container and compact photograph archive. Research confirms Rare Woods, Inc. marketed combination photograph frames and albums during the 1990s under the name The Flip, promoted as both an album and a frame. A 1993 United States Customs ruling describes a related Rare Woods product as a wooden frame containing a removable 12 page album capable of holding 24 photographs, supporting identification of Rare Woods as a photographic accessories manufacturer. Lacking one of the six frames, the Pottery Barn carousel features a substantial weighted flared metal base, central column with ball finial and six hinged glass photograph frames arranged around a rotating support. Each frame accepts a 3.5" x 5" photograph, as identified by the surviving Pottery Barn inserts, and may be turned individually while the carousel rotates to present a changing display of family portraits, travel photographs or collectible cards. Pottery Barn produced several versions of the tabletop photo carousel, drawing inspiration from rotating postcard display racks. The aged silver tone metal, glass panels and architectural finial give this example a collected vintage appearance suitable for Traditional, Transitional, Library, Grandmillennial and eclectic interiors. Together, the two substantial pieces provide contrasting approaches to photograph presentation, combining concealed album storage and a framed keepsake lid with an interactive revolving glass display.
