A pair of Canadian 50-cent coins dated 1966. These pieces are struck in 80% silver with reeded edges. The obverse of each coin features the right-facing Arnold Machin effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by the Latin inscription ELIZABETH II D • G • REGINA. The reverse depicts the 1957 version of the coat of arms of Canada, incorporating symbols of the founding nations and a sprig of three maple leaves at the base. The reverse is inscribed CANADA 1966 50 CENTS and contains the national motto on a ribbon below the shield: A MARI USQUE AD MARE. Condition: Both coins retain original mint lustre. The specimen on the left displays distinctive golden-brown peripheral toning around the rim. The specimen on the right exhibits light surface contact marks. Both appear in an uncirculated state of preservation with minimal signs of handling and no apparent cleaning.
