Dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, this antique military field pack—commonly associated with the German Tornister style—is constructed of heavy brown leather with reinforced perimeter stitching. The rectangular body features a rounded top flap secured by a central vertical strap and brass buckle, complemented by a lower horizontal stabilizing strap. An upper collar extension is fitted with twin metal roller buckles and brass rivets intended for harness or shoulder strap attachment. No maker marks, acceptance stamps, or military unit designations are visible. Exhibiting heavy age and field character, the leather shows widespread surface crackling, scuffs, edge wear, and loss of flexibility throughout. Metal hardware displays patina and surface oxidation consistent with age. Structural stitching remains largely intact, though leather straps exhibit dryness and creasing. Dimensions: 15 x 12 x 5 inches. Representing early European infantry equipment design, this turn-of-the-century leather pack offers strong visual appeal for militaria collectors and field gear displays. BP
